we began as friends, in laughter and shared dreams.
He loved me first, I held back — guarding my heart,
yet his presence never wavered, never fell apart.
Through a decade of storms and quiet skies,
he stood beside me, love steady in his eyes.
He fought the odds, donned a government badge,
just to win the “yes” my parents had to grant.
We found joy in chai tapris, in raindrops on roads,
and later in the glow of places our pockets once owed.
Now, after all trials, hand in hand we stand —
ready to write forever, as one, in the same land."
